Beacon Center Opens New Mental Health Treatment Outpatient Clinic
Herkimer, NY 4/28/2021)- Beacon Center is pleased to announce the opening of our NEW Mental Health Outpatient Treatment Center to be located at 210 S. Main Street in Herkimer, beginning May 17, 2021.
Our new program will be licensed by the New York State Office of Mental Health (OMH), and will serve Herkimer County and the surrounding areas. As the mental health crisis continues across New York State, our goal is to provide access to the care and services needed to support individuals in our area. In addition to this new program, we will continue to provide substance use disorder treatment and medication assisted treatment as part of our overall commitment to behavioral health services.
Beacon Center, a premier provider of outpatient substance use disorder services in Central and Western New York, is a woman-owned business, and was founded in 1990 by Faith Nichols Peterson, a Herkimer native, who recently celebrated the agency’s 30th anniversary. Beacon Center opened the first clinic in a suburb of Buffalo, New York. Since then, Beacon Center has grown and is now consisting of ten sites including seven outpatient clinics, two opioid treatment programs and a community re-integration home.
The clinical programs are founded upon the belief that behavioral health disorders are highly treatable, and that those individuals living with its effects are entitled to the best treatment available. Beacon Center is committed to providing evidence based treatment that addresses all aspects of an individual’s life by using a comprehensive approach at a level that is the least intrusive, yet still effective, in the lives of those we serve.
